Winter Rest

It snow misted all day yesterday.  Teeny, tiny snowflakes that you could barely see, but it was enough to make two children happy and to dust the ground with a bit of white.

In enjoying the winter spirit we did snow-themed art projects, made chicken stock and chicken noodle soup and cornbread, we had a Scrabble game going, and were snug at home enjoying David's day off.

The weekend was packed with an overnight trip down south, two birthday parties, a big 49ers game, church, and cow-buying (to keep in Albany, because no matter how cute I think it would be for the kids and I to walk our cow around the neighborhood, I think she'll be happier in a pasture with other farm animal friends).

Somehow the days can be so full, to the point where we don't even want to look at our calendar and be reminded of the commitments we have, but then we get a restful, rejuvenating day like yesterday and we're fit to tackle the upcoming week.  Your Sabbath doesn't have to be on Sunday, you know.

Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.   ~Mark 6:31

I hope you can find your time to rest this week.
sweet Pascha

I never thought I would say these words, but....that is one cute cow. Seriously. Also, I got my time to rest today, thanks for asking! Since Sundays are rarely restful for me. Sad, but true. Also, LOVE the book list...gave me lots of good things to go check out. Although the libraries around here I'm sure aren't as well stocked as the fancy schmancy ones in Portland....oh well, we try. :)

Isn't she the cutest?? And since we will use her for breeding it means we can bond with her and love her. :) And it's true about the libraries up here...definitely one of the best parts of city living!

Your rest time today looked very, very, VERY wonderful. Grandma Day is a good idea.

Hi Pascha....I won't let anyone hurt you and we will for sure bond. I might even have a bandana you can wear. I'm so excited you are a new member of the Kemple family. Can't wait to meet you someday. There's a friend cow down the road and I call him Carl, maybe you guys can be friends. However, I've been told he may not be around for long so don't get too cozy.

Poor Carl. :( Pascha can definitely wear a bandana...I have a spare purple one she can borrow!!

Wait a minute! I'm not too sure about this bandanna idea. As I'm the one who will be taking care of her, I vote for no bandanna. I expect her to be a dignified heifer. Besides, bandannas are not allowed in the show ring.

Maybe a sparkly collar??

No collars, halters made from leather. Think 'farm' not pampered. Walks down city sidewalks probably are not in Pascha's future.

I'm heading out to work on her new home.
