We turned a corner today:
I was finally brave enough to let Daph play with Play-Doh. You never know how the mess is going to spread, but she did great.
It was a great distraction for her so that I was able to get chocolate chip whoopie pies mixed up while she played. Unfortunately she needed me enough that I got a tiny bit confused and accidentally added 1/3 cup of milk instead of 1/2 cup of milk. It's OK; the pies turned out just fine.
I got to bake with turkey eggs from my dad, buttermilk (that I can make myself), butter (ditto), and whipping cream (double ditto), and I do NOT use shortening (an ingredient that I believe was sent to us straight from the underworld.) Healthiest whoopie pies you'll ever eat.
Except you won't get to eat them.
Unless you're in my home group, then you will.
Giant, speckle-y turkey eggs.
She eventually tired of Play-Doh and wanted to help cook.
Then, after busy kitchen time, we headed out to enjoy the fact that it finally reached 60 degrees! Daphne was happily enjoying the playground when she just took off...
...and wanted to play soccer with the big boys.
Poor Daphne.
I discovered today that buying her Stonz Booties was one of the best purchases ever, and that it is 1,000,000 times easier to play outside with a child who can walk. If summer ever comes, it's going to be a great time. (Sometimes Blogger is weird and I have no idea why there is a huge space here. It won't let me fix it. Sorry for the annoyance to your eyeballs.)
